Chocolate Chip scones.

One of the pantry items I like to have is a box of lions scone mix. It is great as it is quick and easy home cooked morning tea that takes less than 1/2hour to do. It also can have so many variations. What ever your imagination can muster. So todays variation was chocolate chip.

Here are the dry ingredients:

You will need about 1/2 the bag of choc chips and about 2 table spoons of cocoa powder mixed in the full box of scone mix.
Mix together with about 1 cup of milk of your choice. (We use lactose free milk here). This is the part that you can do with the children. It should come together to form a soft dough. Turn out on to a floured board/pastry mat. Knead into a smooth ball. Roll out until 2cm thick. With a floured scone cutter cut out the scones, keep rerolling until all mix is used.
Place on a lined baking try and brush with milk. Bake for 12-15 minuets in a preheated 220C oven.
Enjoy cool/warm. For that goey chocolate goodness.
